SFIA Pays Tribute to Industry Icon, Frank Dassler

--

“I’m filled with tremendous sadness to learn of the passing of Frank Dassler, longtime executive with adidas and Puma, as well as former President of both the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) and European Sporting Goods Federation (FESI),” stated SFIA President & CEO, Tom Cove.

Frank was highly regarded and respected in every way: as a brand executive; as a lawyer; as an independent thinker; as a visionary industry leader; as an athlete; and as a person intensely committed to his wife, Sabine, and son, Christopher.

“It was my pleasure and honor to work with Frank on many important industry issues and to serve under his leadership when he was President of WFSGI. Frank was always smart, thoughtful, open to other viewpoints, creative, and decisive at the appropriate time. The global sporting goods industry was fortunate to have him as a leader and I am blessed to have had him as a friend and colleague. Frank leaves an impressive and sustaining legacy touching many lives. I, and everyone at SFIA, send our heartfelt condolences to Sabine and Cristopher on this sad day.”
