Possible EU Tariff Change for Laminated Textile Fabrics Could Impact Tariffs on Finished Products
The European Union (EU) is considering a change in the tariff classification of laminated textile products currently imported under HTS 59.03. The EU proposal would further define laminated textile fabrics using additional distinguishing features to determine their tariff classification in chapter 59. If adopted, this tariff change would have a ripple effect on finished products, subjecting them to higher tariff rates. At present, the U.S. is not considering this change but could follow the E.U. lead if they adopt it.
