What is Moxxi?

Dorianne: Moxxi is an affordable fitness lifestyle — We offer compact equipment for the home for consumers to get fit, focused and confident. Our focus is to build equipment and workouts for anyone living a busy lifestyle and for those looking to get toned and stronger in the comfort of their own home. This is real Pilates training for real people, without the high cost and cumbersome equipment.

When was Moxxi started?

Dorianne: September 2017.

How does the fitness chair work?

Dorianne: The product has a patented spin seat combined with spring-based resistance, which delivers greater results in less time. You activate the spin seat to target the obliques in different planes of motion to strengthen, stretch and increase range of motion of your core. The Moxxi Pilates Chair provides functional exercises that will benefit you in work, home and play, making you stronger and less prone to injury.

How did you come up with the idea of Moxxi Pilates?

Dorianne: Years of listening to clients who were in need of something at home to supplement, or take place of, boutique pilates classes. Clients needed something compact, affordable and effective. The product is for those needing to save money and/or don’t have the time to make it to scheduled exercise classes.

What is your background?

Dorianne: My exercise certifications include: Physical Mind Pilates, Stott Pilates, Balanced Body Pilates, Evolation Yoga and Reiki. I am also a mom to twin teenagers, with an MBA and a thriving corporate career turned entrepreneurship.

I truly understand the work/life balance challenge. Self-care should be a top priority and finding the time to focus on yourself can be a bit daunting. I spent years in the gym, lifting weights and running, trying to fit it all in my busy schedule. When I found Pilates over 20 years ago, it transformed my body with its gentle, yet challenging approach. I became stronger, leaner and more balanced than ever before. I loved it so much, I realized I had found my calling; and I became a Pilates instructor and studio owner.

When is the official launch of the chair?

How do you plan on marketing your product? Will it be sold in retail, or only online?

Dorianne: It will be sold online through www.moxxipilates.com and on-air.

Who is your target audience?

Dorianne: The individual leading a modern busy lifestyle. Generally, women over the age of 40, mothers of young children, and anyone who wants to get fit at home or supplement their other workouts. Also, those who have wanted to try Pilates, but found it too expensive or were too intimidated to go to a class will love this product.

What are your plans for the launch of this product?

Dorianne: The launch will be online and on-air.

Do you have any plans for new Moxxi products, other than the chair?

Dorianne: Yes, the goal is to continue to develop Pilates-based products that are compact, affordable and effective for home fitness with a unique “spin” to it.

Where do you see Moxxi five years from now?

Dorianne: I see Moxxi creating a Pilates fitness lifestyle community that provides support to all who have the courage to take the steps to get fit, focused and confident.
